MaPaw Siberian Husky Rescue will be hosting a fun event on Sunday, a wine tasting and BBQ fundraiser at Manatawny Creek Winery in PA. I painted these two images for the auction table. I hope they raise some money for the pups!
Day 20 of my one a day resolution: Friends adopted this beautiful pit bull a few months ago. I finally got the chance to meet her this weekend…what a sweet girl! Time at the shelter had caused her to be a bit under weight and withdrawn, but time in a loving family has allowed her to blossom into a friendly, wonderful dog. A little love can give a shelter dog a new leash on life!
Day fourteen of my one a day resolution: I haven’t had my box of charcoal out in years, but today I was inspired by the beautiful figure drawings on this blog. I decided to give dig out my old supply of “vines” and give it a whirl. It’s messy and hard to control. It smears and makes adding detail difficult. It’s random and troublesome. In other words, it’s FUN!
Day ten of my one a day resolution: Meet Joker! This drawing does not do him justice. He is some sort of Pitty mix and absolutely beyond sweet. When I met him today he couldn’t stop wagging and giving kisses. This drawing makes him look a bit like a Chihuahua, but he is actually the size of a big pit bull. And oh…those ears! They are HUGE!!!
I dropped off a stack of drawings at Lehigh County Humane Society today. While I was there I took a stroll through the kennels. There are so many sweet dogs waiting for homes. It breaks my heart.
Day nine of my one a day resolution: Tonight was swimming lessons night, so I sat in the waiting area sketching photos from my phone. The first pup I found is a Pit Bull. She’s a guest at Lehigh County Humane Society in Allentown, PA. Her name is Cupcake and she looks like a sweety. I hope I did her cute little face justice.
Next, I pulled up a MaPaw pup. Diesel is the cover dog on this year’s MaPaw calendar. He is absolutely gorgeous and a stunning example of a Siberian husky.
Day eight of my one a day resolution: I made it to day eight and I’m still keeping up! I touched up yesterday’s drawing of June, which I now like much better and then I did and I did a redraw of MaPaw’s Huli, which I still don’t love and then I drew Wesley, a wiemeriner who is currently a guest at the Lehigh County Humane Society. I’m not having a great drawing day, but I’m sticking with it anyway…can’t break the resolution yet!
